The Secret Of Kite Flying

I am very bad at kite flying.During this makar sankranti I asked my friend who was flying a kite (and I as always was holding a spool for him) "How come you are so good at this. Wht's the secret of kite flying." He answered, saying the most important thing while flying the kite is you have to pull the string only when the tip of the kite is facing upwards, towards the sky. If you pull the string at the wrong time the kite will come down."

Now isn't the same principle applies in our lives? If we dont do the thing at the time at which we were supposed to do it that is if we keep procrastinating then in future we have to regret. We generally procrastinate things which are important but not urgent. For eg doing exercise regularly, studying from the beginning of the semester, telling your loved ones that you love them(especially your mom and dad). We wait until these things become urgent and then when they become urgent we tend become anxious and when we become anxious we cant give our cent percent and when we cant give our cent percent most of the times we fail. Sometimes we still win by luck but you know luck is the last thing happens to you when fate gets tired of waiting. So the secret is to do these things when they are not urgent.(I know you must be saying look who is talking. I know its difficult to implement and I am still learning.)

The beauty of life as well as kite flying is that the string is always in your hand. So you have to decide when is the right time to pull the string. You decide the height of your kite. Similarly you only have to decide what you want to achieve and I am damn sure that each one of you will achieve what you really want from life.

There's another lesson to be learnt from kite-flying..The more you soar upwards towards fame and success, the more you should pull your string of humility towards earth...And retire when you are at the peak rather than having a nasty downfall :)...

Hi Rati,

Thanks for writing in.. Your 1st comment didn't got published :( .. though it gave me the message that it has been published... may be because i publised second coomment 1st ... weird..

wow thats a nice interpretation.. also you always have to make sure that your string is sharp enough to cut the competition and your hands are strong enough to hold it :-)

also sometimes you might experience a fall in your journey, or the complete failure also, that time you must have the plan B ready(kite2,3,...):P
